Create digital business cards with templates without an account
How to create digital business cards for teams or companies without an account by using templates.
With templates, you can create digital business cards for your team or company even without an account. This is useful for quick, one-time card creation and when you do not need central management.
For larger quantities, we still recommend a free account and the use of card groups. This lets you manage cards centrally later and, for editable cards, automatically update them in the employees' Wallet.
Templates without an account are especially useful if you do not want to create an account, only need a few cards, or do not expect regular changes.
Step 1: Create a template
First, create a template. This template contains the design and all values that should be the same for several cards.
- Open the Templates page.
- Click Create template.
- Enter a Template name.
- The name only helps you stay organized.
- It does not appear on the finished cards.
- Under Template settings, choose the card type:
- Contact Card: For normal digital business cards with contact details.
- LinkedIn Profile Card: For cards whose QR code links to LinkedIn profiles.
- Enter the values that should be the same for all cards.
- Typical examples are company name, website, company address, logo, and colors.
- Leave individual fields such as first name, last name, job title, email address, or phone number empty.
- For each field, define whether the value can be overwritten on the card level:
- Lock field means: this value cannot be changed on cards created from the template.
- Disable means: the field is not shown when creating cards, which keeps the form easier to read.
- Click Create template.
After saving, the template opens. You can continue editing it or create a card from it directly.
Step 2: Create a card from the template
Now create the first card for an employee.
- Open your template.
- Click Create card.
- Enter the person's individual details.
- This usually includes name, job title, email address, and phone number.
- Locked fields from the template cannot be changed here.
- Values from the template are applied automatically.
- Check the Wallet preview.
- Every card is created for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
- The preview may differ slightly from the final Wallet pass depending on the device.
- Click Add to cart & create another if you want to create the next card right away.
The current card is added to the cart. After that, a new empty card from the same template opens.
Repeat this step for all employees.
Step 3: Complete the order
Once all cards are in the cart, you can complete the order.
- Open the cart through Review Cart or click Create Digital Business Card on the last card.
- Check all cards in the cart.
- Complete the order.
- After payment, the digital business cards are created.
After that, the cards can be saved to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. You can also send the cards to the employees' respective email addresses.
Important: What templates without an account can do
Templates without an account help you create several cards quickly in a consistent style. They save time because you only need to enter company values and design once.
There are important limits:
- The template is tied to your current browser. To open a template again later, you need to use the same browser.
- The template is deleted automatically after a longer period of inactivity.
- Cards created from a template remain standalone cards. If you change the template later, cards that were already purchased are not updated automatically.
- This flow does not support file import for Excel or CSV files. Use card groups with an account instead.
If you want to manage several cards for a company or team professionally, an account is usually the better choice. You can also move templates that you created without an account into an account later. In the account, matching templates show the action Claim as card group.
