What is a digital business card?
A digital business card is a Wallet pass for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. The pass includes a QR code. Depending on the card type, other people can use it to save contact details or open a LinkedIn profile.
Share the QR code
- Open the Wallet pass on your phone.
- Show the QR code to the other person.
- The other person scans the QR code. A Contact Card lets them save the contact. A LinkedIn Profile Card opens the saved profile.
The other person does not need the DigiCard Pro app.
Contact Card or LinkedIn Profile Card
A Contact Card stores your contact details as a vCard directly in the QR code. This means the code can be scanned without an internet connection. The vCard can include your name, organization, job title, email address, phone number, and website.
A LinkedIn Profile Card opens the LinkedIn profile saved on the card instead. This requires an internet connection.
Only the information you enter while creating the card is used. Empty fields are not included in the contact details.
Fixed card or Editable Card
- You cannot edit a fixed card after purchase.
- You can continue updating an Editable Card after purchase, including its contact details and design.
If the Wallet pass for an Editable Card is already installed, Wallet should apply saved changes automatically. You normally do not need to add the card again.
Neither card type has a fixed expiration date.
For the differences after purchase, read Fixed and Editable Cards.
